Trader Joe's

One of the things that I really miss about California is the weekly trip to Trader Joe's. For those of you in the deprived parts of the country, Trader Joe's is a grocery store that offers a wide variety of healthy (and not so healthy) foods and snacks at amazing prices. When we first moved to Mission Viejo, our neighbors told us that we would LOVE this store and they were right. As soon as we moved to Idaho, we wondered if we'd be able to survive without our Trader Joe's. It turns out that we can survive, as long as we drive to Seattle periodically and load up on all our favorite TJ's snacks.

Since Mom and I are now driving to Seattle fairly often, we get to stop by TJ's whenever we want. And we've stopped there every time we've gone to Seattle! My current favorite TJ snacks are sesame honey almonds, dried cherries, chocolate covered toffee and their halibut sushi. Like I said, some healthy, some not so healthy. I'm currently on the Eat Right 4 Your Type diet (for the anemia) and TJ's has some great snacks for such a diet.

One of the things that TJ's is known for is their great selection of imported foods such as cheese, crackers, desserts and other delicacies. TJ's is also famous for their amazing wine selection at incredible prices. If you ever need to take a hostess gift to a party, definitely stop by TJ's for some wine and cheese.

So, if you've never had the pleasure of shopping at TJ's and you find yourself driving by one, stop the car and start shopping!
