On this most important day, the celebration of my entrance into our world 24 years ago, it's easy to become depressed that life is flying by more rapidly with each passing day. I take solace in this profundity:

Thank you to Aunt Stephanie for surreptitiously waiting until I had gone to sleep last night (well past her usual bed time) to write "Happy Birthday Merf! 24" on my bathroom mirror with lipstick. I must admit that my aging eyes quickly brightened at the sight this morning. :-) Thank you to all my beloved friends for your thoughtful cards and phone calls!
